New Mexico Cannabis Control Division Adult Use – Important Terms
Cannabis Consumption Area – similar concept to a microbrewery; an area where cannabis products may be consumed (alcohol cannot be sold or consumed)
Cannabis Control Division (CCD) – a division of the Regulation and Licensing Department created to implement the Cannabis Regulation Act
Cannabis Courier – someone who transports cannabis products to a qualified patient, a primary reciprocal participant caregiver, or directly to consumers
Cannabis Establishment – a broad term that includes a cannabis testing laboratory, a cannabis manufacturer, a cannabis producer, a cannabis retailer, a cannabis research laboratory, a vertically integrated cannabis establishment, a cannabis producer microbusiness, or an integrated cannabis microbusiness
Cannabis Manufacturer – a person that turns uncultivated cannabis into edibles, oils and other cannabis products
Cannabis Microbusiness – a cannabis small business
Cannabis Producer – a person who grows or farms cannabis plants
Cannabis Producer Microbusiness – a person licensed to produce cannabis products at a single premise providing that the person shall not possess more than two hundred total mature cannabis plants at any one time
Cannabis Product – a product that is or that contains cannabis or cannabis extracts, including edible or topical products that may also contain other ingredients
Cannabis Research Laboratory – a facility that studies cannabis cultivation, characteristics or uses
Cannabis Retailer – a person that is licensed to sell cannabis products to a qualified patient, a primary reciprocal participant caregiver, or directly to consumers
Cannabis Server Permit – this permits a person to serve cannabis or cannabis products in a cannabis consumption area; a cannabis server is just like a bartender who serves alcohol
Cannabis Testing Laboratory – a person that samples, collects and tests cannabis products
Commercial Cannabis Activity – cultivating, producing, possessing, manufacturing, storing, testing, researching, labeling, transporting, couriering, selling or consigning cannabis products (but excluding homegrow, medical cannabis program activities and cannabis training and education programs)
Integrated Cannabis Microbusiness – a person that is authorized to act as all or any combination of the following: a cannabis courier, a cannabis producer at a single location (and possessing no more than 200 total mature cannabis plants at any one time), a cannabis manufacturer at a singled location, a cannabis retailer at a single location selling only products that they’ve manufactured
Vertically Integrated Cannabis Establishment – a person that is authorized to act as all or any combination of the following: a cannabis courier, a cannabis manufacturer, a cannabis producer or a cannabis retailer;
